Oggi è San Simone, è 28 ottobre e quindi anche l’anniversario di Vincenzo Paparelli, tifoso laziale ucciso una domenica di 32 anni fa durante un derby Roma-Lazio. L’aspetto più assurdo dell’uccisione di quest’uomo rimane il modo, drammatico, crudo, violento e soprattutto inatteso. Paparelli è morto in un attimo, mentre mangiava un panino seduto sui gradoni della Curva Nord in attesa che iniziasse la partita, vicino a sua moglie. Paparelli è morto per un razzo che gli si è conficcato in un occhio, un razzo sparato da oltre 150 metri, dalla curva dei tifosi romanisti. Soltanto pochi minuti prima aveva visto due razzi volare, due traiettorie strane e imprevedibili che avevano terminato la loro pericolosa corsa lontano, addirittura all’esterno dello stadio. Testimone dei suoi carnefici era ignaro che poco dopo un terzo razzo lo avrebbe ucciso strappandolo per sempre ai suoi cari, ad una partita, ma non dalla memoria di chi lo ricorda dopo oltre trent’anni. La scia del razzo sparato termina sul volto di Paparelli, una maschera di sangue, un momento di silenzio e poi una disperata corsa verso l’ospedale Santo Spirito dove l’uomo giungerà già privo di vita. Cala il gelo sullo stadio e su una partita maledetta che viene fatta disputare lo stesso per evitare ulteriori incidenti, una giustificazione drammatica che verrà utilizzata anche nella tragica notte dell’Heysel sei anni più tardi. In Italia è il primo caso di morto ammazzato durante un incontro di calcio, la caccia all’assassino parte immediatamente, dopo una breve indagine, viene indicato in Giovanni Fiorillo l’autore materiale del gesto criminale. Fiorillo ha 18 anni ed è un pittore edile disoccupato. Già la sera dell’omicidio si dà alla latitanza fuggendo senza una meta ben precisa in giro per l’Italia riuscendo anche ad espatriare in Svizzera. Dopo quattordici mesi si costituisce e nel 1987 viene condannato dalla Cassazione a sei anni e dieci mesi di reclusione per omicidio preterintenzionale. Muore pochi anni dopo a causa di un male incurabile. Sono passati trentadue anni ormai ma il ricordo di Vincenzo Paparelli non si è affievolito, soprattutto nei tifosi laziali i quali lo ricordano sempre con affetto e dolore. È trascorso molto tempo, non ho vissuto quella giornata ma ogni 28 ottobre il mio pensiero vola a Vincenzo, morto prima di una partita di calcio per colpa di un razzo nautico per segnalazioni luminose sparato da 150 metri.
